Meet Trey McBride, Arizona Cardinals’ Rising Star

Trey McBride, Tight End for the Arizona Cardinals, and we're here with Gridiron Football.

Playing flag football was the first thing I did. I played that before I did tackle. And that was a lot of fun. It teaches you a lot of the fundamentals, the basics about football so you can play safe in a healthy game. I think sports have shaped me into who I am by creating a habit, creating routines and creating a healthy lifestyle that I can grow up and continue to live. It's done a great job of keeping me active and doing all sorts of things. So playing sports is a great thing. Challenges come up with sports all the time. You know, it's maybe in the middle of a game you have to fight through, you're tired, you're sore, all that above. But, I think just pushing through is something that comes with playing sports. You got to continue to keep going. You got to fight through that mental barrier. There's a lot of coaches throughout my career that have helped me and continue to push me. All my coaches have pushed me and helped me grow. So coaches are a huge part of how I got here. I think something that really sticks with me is just doing all the little things; little things end up being big things in the end. So you do all the little things, right everything else will will work out. To step on the field for the first time. It was so cool to to be in an NFL stadium, to have all the fans there to have my parents in the stands, you know, something that I've dreamed of my whole life. It was very special. To be on a platform to have the opportunity to give back here is very cool to be on the platform that we are, to have the opportunity to give back to kids is very special. So follow your dreams. Everyone wants to be in the NFL, and you just got to follow the dreams. Do everything right and continue to grow every day.
