Last year, we shared the incredible story of Logan Doty, a member of our Gridiron family in Cave Creek, Arizona. Diagnosed at the age of nine with a very rare malignant melanoma cancer, he has endured far more than any child should. But as his mom says, "Logan is a fighter"! His road to recovery continues, with a fourth surgery planned for May.Ā
His wonderful mom, Jacque, is here today to share an update!
If you missed the original story, you can read it here.

Update on Logan Doty, as many have asked. Logan just got cleared at his skin check at Phoenix Childrenās and is ready for his next reconstructive surgery.Ā
We are just amazed of the transformation of his head after having a very rare malignant Melanoma tumor removed. The surgeon took out a section the size of a baseball. Itās absolutely unbelievable and such a miraculous difference! The scar is very minimal as well, where they removed lymph nodes from his neck.
Ā

Ā
Itās hard to take in knowing he will be put under anesthesia 5 times in under 2 years. Petscan, mri and catscan. Then, May 13th will be his 4th surgery. We always tell ourselves heās here with us and alive and thereās always others that are worse. Ā
This next surgery will involve removing more of the skin graft that was taken from his hip and temporarily put in his head. They will also be pulling and folding his scalp together to make the area on his head smaller. Hoping for more hair growth to come in as well! Itās very painful for him and not easy! We want this to be his last surgery so we are hoping the surgeon can make that happen.Ā
Ā

Ā
In these past two years Logan has remained keeping busy and striving in homeschool but still remains close with all his Cave Creek buddies. We have three teachers come to our home that help us out along with Mom as his āhome roomā teacher, Lol. They have all been a tremendous help.
Ā

Ā
Logan is our miracle and Cancer Free! With our faith, such a caring community of love and support has helped in his healing process. Gridiron has been such an amazing part of his journey being able to play flag football, spoiling him with gifts and just the caring and encouraging emails checking up on him. As we go into this next surgery we would love and appreciate prayers!!! Ā
Love,
The Doty Family
