The Battle5 – Gridiron Tournament Series kicked off in a big way this past weekend in Dallas, Texas! More than 40 5v5 flag football teams across five age divisions hit the field for two full days of competition. Even the sizzling Texas sun, with temperatures rising above 100 degrees, couldn’t stop these awesome athletes from bringing a little heat of their own.

Please join us in congratulating the 2022 Battle5 – Dallas Champions and runners-up!

6U

After setting the stage with some close semifinal matchups between the SC Elite vs Blitz and CP Bulldogs vs NTX Bolts, the #1 seed Team Blitz took on the #2 seed CP Bulldogs in the Championship Game.

With a number of amazing individual and team plays by both squads, the Championship was decided by a last-minute touchdown pass by the Blitz to edge out the CP Bulldogs by 1-point. Final Score: Team Blitz 19 – CP Bulldogs 18!

Congratulations to both teams on an amazing tournament performance. Several players were considered for tournament MVP, which speaks to the rosters each team brought to the field.

8U

After several close, back-and-forth games to reach the championship, the #1 seed Texas Ice Ice Babies took on the #2 seed Bulldogs.

The Ice Ice Babies were able to maintain their tournament undefeated streak with a final score of 20-7.

Congratulations to both teams on a hard-fought, well-coached contest. We hope to see you back in action at the next Battle5 Tournament very soon!

10U

After winning the 8U championship, the Ice Ice Babies were poised for a clean-sweep of the 8 and 10 and Under Divisions. As the #2 seed, they met the #1 seeded Team Blitz in the Championship game.

After a close 1st half, Team Blitz overtook the Ice Ice Babies and propelled themselves to a 43-6 victory, cementing themselves as the 10U Battle5 – Dallas Champions!

With several athletes playing up from the 8U division, our hats go off to the Ice Ice Babies for making an incredible run in the 10U division. The future looks extremely bright for both organizations!

12U

The 12U Division Championship game consisted of the #1 seed CP Bulldogs taking on the #2 seed DeSoto Purple Knights. The Purple Knights were extremely prepared for this contest after defeating a nationally-ranked NEXT Team from New Mexico in their semi-final matchup, 35-28.

Despite a strong showing, the Purple Knights couldn’t overcome the passing game of the CP Bulldogs led by future 5-Star QB from the class of 2028 Ayden Salik. Salik’s precision, leadership, and management of the offense were very impressive throughout the tournament.

Final Score CP Bulldogs 28 – DeSoto Purple Knights 0.

14U

The stage was set for the final division championship game after two very close games in the semi-finals between the CP Bulldogs / GVXpress and GrandElite Athletics / Metro Monstars.

In the first semi-final game, the CP Bulldogs narrowly defeated GVXpress 13-12, with last-minute heroics by the Bulldogs. The second semi-final game had its share of back-and-forth play with the GrandElite Squad defeating the Metro Monstars, 16-12!

The intensity only increased in the championship. But the CP Bulldogs edged out the GrandElite Athletics team by a final score of 27-20.

The CP Bulldogs Organization took home 2 of the 5 Division Championships this weekend and were close to an additional championship in the 6U Division.
